Folio Prints – Matted Prints or Board Mounted?

The moment Folio Boxes hit the market they became best sellers, this product is an absolute treat to have on hand. It holds from 5, 10, 15 up to 20 cards. The box itself can be personalised with over 80 available cover materials and there’s an option to include a standard or mini USB to hold the extra photos that don’t make it to the cards. Being very versatile, the Folio Box houses Matted or Mounted Prints, depending on your preference (more on these below). These handcrafted prints can be displayed on a Tabletop Display Easel Stand or a Wooden Photo Ledge, on bookshelves, dressers, or even used as wall art!

WHAT ARE MATTED PRINTS?

Matted Prints aka Passepartout Prints are one of the type of print available in the Folio Box. Matted Prints (as we call them) are framed prints – to put it simply. In reality your image, printed on a chosen paper type (Fuji Silk, Mohawk Eggshell, or Canon Deep Matte) is sandwiched between two tailored-to-fit, stiff paperboards, formally known as mats. These mats can also be personalised – we have 6 colors to choose from. Prints can be portrait or landscape format, depending on how you prepare your photograph. Oh, and of course there is a range of sizes to choose for your final product. Folio Boxes are made to fit your Matted Print size.

WHAT ARE BOARD MOUNTED PRINTS?

Sturdy, stunning and just what you were looking for. These prints, which are available as an option in the Folio Box will look amazing on either Fuji Silk or Mohawk Matte Paper. Canon Deep Matte paper is reserved for Matted Prints only. But that’s not the only difference between these two types of prints. There is no frame included on the front of your Mounted Print. As their name suggests, Mounted Prints are mounted onto a rigid paperboard which makes this product exceptionally sturdy. Available in a whole bunch of sizes that will fit into any of our handcrafted Folio Boxes.

Alright, awesome, but now you’re probably wondering which print to choose for your Folio Box. That’s easy! Whichever one you want – bet you didn’t expect that answer. In all truth, it doesn’t matter which product you decide on. Both Matted and Mounted Prints beautifully suit any photography type, are made of durable and sustainable materials that will be sure to last for years to come! Passepartout or the Matted Print as we like to call them, are suitable for any type of photography and so are the Board Mounted Prints.
